First Impression

Overall my first impression of this class is that it seems very tedious. There seems to be an assignment due almost every night. I think this class will definitely keep me on my toes and help create healthier habits, such as working ahead on assignments and not wait till the last moment to do them. I enjoy the structure of the class and how assignments are completed and turned in. In the beginning, it was a bit overwhelming having to learn how to navigate TestOut and student email as suggested. But with more practice, I'm sure it'll all be muscle memory.

  1. Yes, keeping students on their toes and forming healthier habits is a feedback I have heard from past students :-)

I think your muscle memory is already forming!

Very glad to hear you enjoy the structure of the class and how coursework are completed and turned in. Welcome to IS101-3010, Spring 2022, Adriana ^_^

  2. I agree, but then again, when it comes to important things. Most of them are very tedious and detail orientated, we just need to learn how to manage our time and get things done so that we don't have thoughts and become overwhelmed with regret or worse.
There are so many things that we can use to our advantage and I think that this class will also teach us how to use the tools that we see everyday much better.

  3. I know what you mean. When I saw all the assignments and due dates, my head spun for a second, but I know every assignment will help perfect my skills!

  4. I felt overwhelmed at first. I just have to take one thing at a time and really work on time management. You got this.

  5. Tedious is very accurate, especially comparing it to my other courses. Professor Wu has so far promoted proactiveness as a key element to success. I am also hoping to develop better habits as procrastination is something I believe everyone suffers from to some degree.

  6. If you can, just try and finish the week assignments in one night. That way they are over and done with and then you can focus on your other classes. It's a lot, but it's nothing you can't handle.

  7. Yes, when I saw all the assignments I made it my goal as well to try to stay ahead. Of course plan is subject to change as you never know what can happen.

  8. It has been a bit since I've been in school and to jump right back in with 5 courses might be a mistake for me, but I am not usually one to shy away from a challenge. I'm definitely starting off a bit slow with the assignments in this class, but I've not doubt that I'll pick it up soon!

  9. I completely agree with how the class is structured. It is definetly organized and not as overwhelming.

  10. I feel like with all the IT-related issues that can come up anymore, trying to stay ahead is key...you never know when your internet is going to go out right as you get ready to submit something, etc. I'm trying at all times to leave myself some space, so when something like that happens, I have enough time to improvise a solution.

Tech can be such a headache...

  12. This course will definitely teach you how to be structured and develop disciplinary traits to be successful. An assignment is due everyday, and you have to be on point, otherwise, you will fall behind. One can learn some valuable life lesson form that though.

  14. Yes Tedious is a accurate word but I kind of like it with some of my other classes there is often radio silence from the instructor until a big project is due I appreciate the constant feedback and assignments.

  15. Tedious? More like "Everdaaay, new thaaang". Kind of like "Another day, another dollar". Always look to the brighter side!

  16. At first it did seem like a lot, but after going through the courses, I realized it was a lot smoother that initially anticipated.
